6/30/01 SONDAY Expess forfeited the first biddy game to 1st Presbyterian this morning . It's their second forfeit and according to Pete Edwards they are now out of the league. Mr T was trailing Montibello Pride 24 - 10 at the half after being down 22 - 1.

In the high school games during the week the Rifles gunned down Holy Cross 68 - 49 behind Daniel Hawkins (16), Shondell Johnson (14) and Sidney Johnson (9).

Blue Chip bopped St. Lawrence 64 - 51 as Andre and Cameron Benson had 20 and 18 outdoing SL's Marvin Cheese (13) and Ryan Johnson (10).

Minuteman Press creamed the Pythons 83 - 36; Oumar (Reggie) Sylla (25), Wayne Coward (15), Brian Sisti (11), Lee M. Allen (11) and Nick Titus (10) led the rout.

First Presyterian took North Babylon 82 - 73 behind Donnell Smith, Fred Munroe and A McKinnon with 21, 19 and 10 respectively.

Rise Above surprised the Jaguars 88 -57 as Joe McLeod (25), Kannaly Williams (19), Malik Wright (17) - the kid does get around!! - and Jason Narrin (10) all contributed. The Jaguars showed with only five players and John Oates (18), Ryan Kelleher (14), Danny Falcon (10), Darryl Elijah (10) and Trevoy Chambers (5) were not enough.

The Renaissance Warriors picked up an easy forfeit win over Rodney Abrams Institute.

St. Mary's squashed the Cobras 73 - 58 without their star Mamadou Diakate. John McFadden (24), Dan Balaj (11), Keith Tilley (9), Frank Gilroy (9) and Jim Wall (7) took care of business. Carl Benn had a game high 26 for the Cobras but only R Louder and T Wilson helped with 8 and 7.

Huntingtom beat the Brooklyn Rams 69 - 56 as Daon Merritt (25) and Arthur Anoura (23) easily outdueled T Breland (14) and P Jeanot (10).

6/24/01 For the Biddies LI Trotters took 1st Presbyterian 48 - 35 and Montibello Pride squeezed Orange Crush 44 - 21.

The Manhasset AllStars Midgets outlasted Montibello Pride 42 - 36 despite a game high 17 points from Pride point guard, Aleek Pauline who had three treys in the second half to help close a 28 - 11 MAS halftime lead. Manhasset controlled the boards with Kevin Dooley (15), Jonathan Fountain (11), Tyson Johnson (6) and Keith Turcios (6). Point guard Joey Amelio is now playing for the Ravens, not Manhasset. In a Saturday game the Rifle midgets shot down St. Lawrence 76 - 29. SL's John Filosa had 18 of his team's points but was overmatched by Unique Stowe, Trevon Hughes, Ray Arnold and company.

6/22/01 Peter F. Edwards: 'IS8 Nike Summer League has a five week regular season with three divisions, High School, Midgets and Biddies. HS will play most weeknights at 6:30 and 8:00 for 16 teams. There are 6 Biddy teams playing Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9:30 and Saturdays at 10:30. The Midget division has 8 teams playing Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30 (Sundays), 11:30 and 12:30.
