2/17/02  There's a Biddie play-in game Orange Crush vs. Rifles this Friday, 2/22 at 6:30.  Saturday 2/24 matchups are Church vs. Elmont Panthers at 9:30 and Gauchos vs. Montibello Pride at 10:30.  Sunday games are 80 Park vs Impact at 9:30 and Friday winner vs. Team Next at 10:30. The semis are Saturday March 2nd. at 9:30 and 10:30 and the championship onSunday at 9:30.

Midget playoffs begin on Saturday, 2/23 with For the Good of the Neighborhood vs TK All Stars at 11:30, the Rifles vs Abyssinian at 12:30, Bulldog Athletic vs Rock Steady Beacon at 1:30 and Southside vs Central Jersey Heat at 2:30.  The winners will play the four bye teams 80 Park, Gauchos, Church and Brooklyn's Finest on Sunday at 11:30 through 2:30.  The Midget semis are Saturday, 3/2 at 11:30 and 12:30 with the championship on Sunday at 11:00.

The Junior playoffs are Monday through Thursday evenings at 6:30 and 7:45 this week.  The Rebels play Huntington and the Jersey City Heat play JYO on Monday while the Mnahassett All Stars vs Rifles and SONDAY Express II vs Riverside Church on Tusesday.  Monday winners play Rock Steady Beacon and SONDAY Express I on Wednesday, while the Tuesday winners play the Gauchos and Brooklyn Cyclones on Thursday. The semis are on Saturday 3/2 at 1:30 and 2:45 with the championship on Sunday at 12:30.

2/11/02 Selected Biddie results  --  Elmont Panther over Orange Crush 36-21 as Mark Evans and Jabar Singletary each get 11 and Tony Turbovis has 7.  Nathaniel Wilson nets 8 for the Crush.   Panthers routed Rock Steady 40-13 as Daniel McFadden (12), Jabar Singletary (8) and Mark Evans (7) led the Elmont scoring.

The Church creamed Montebello Pride when Lenny McNeil bagged 17.  

The Gauchos also rocked Rock Steady 57-14.  They got balanced scoring from Allen. Forbes (10), Jonathen Rigg (10), Omari Lawrence (8) and  Antoine Pettifore (7).

Team Next took 80 Park 46-32 when Lance Stephenson,  Brandon Butler and Irving Walker had 25, 11 and 8. Ian Umpierre was the only double digit scorer for 80 Park with 14.  Lance Stephenson,   Irving Walker and Corey had 20, 23 and 13 when they took the Rifles 70-18.

Selected Midget results  --  Brooklyn's Finest edged Abyssinian 43-40 behind a game high 29 from D Isom.  The Finest also beat For the Good of the Neighborhoos 49-37 behind D Isom (20), R Bu rns (10) and C Lovick (8).  FTGOTN was led by Fred Odon with 9.

80 Park buried Brooklyn USA 65-25 without a double digit scorer as Darius Gabriel (9),  Jamal Linning (8), Malik Boothe (6), Sean Crawford (6), Hickman Simmons (6) and A Gabriel (6) got the job done.  Darius Gabriel, Jamal Linning and Steven Wood did get to double digits (15, 12 and 11) in a 69-20 rout of the Central Jersey Hawks.  In closer games 80 Park took Bulldog Athletic 57-42 and Rise Above 74-63.  Datius Gabriel and Steven Wood each had 12 in the Bulldog victory and Wood had 25 against Rise Above.

It's no shock that the Church Midget team is talented and deep.  Torrance McGill, Malcolm Grant, Lawrence Jolicoer, Wes Frederique, J Greene, O Planes and Bret Wilson have all contributed to wins over the Rifles,  TK All Stars, Brooklyn Cyclone and JYO.

Speaking of loaded the Gauchos have 6-7 eighth grader Curtis Kelly playing in the middle for their Midget and Junior teams. On the Midgets he's joined by Terrell McKenzie,  Ryan Bowman, Edgar Sosa and Kashif Pratt.  They've beaten Rock Steady Beacon 43-39,  Jersey City Heat 61-34, Montibello Pride 66-45 and Southside 59-47.

Selected Junior results  --  The Gauchos have beaten the Jersey City Heat 64-36 and Huntington 42-36 with a Friday night game against the Judges.  Mike Dietz, Steve Walker, Junior Mitchell, Herb Allen and Curtis Kelley have led the way.

2/11/02  This is the last regular season week for IS8 Nike Winter League.  The Junior division playoffs begin Monday, 2/18 and the Biddie and Midget playoffs begin Saturday 2/23.  The undefeated Biddie teams are Team Next,  Gauchos, Elmont Panthers and the Church.  The undefeated Midgets are 80 Park,  Riverside, 'chos and Brooklyn's Finest. There are ten Junior games left: two each evening Thursday through Friday and two on Saturday.  The Manhasset All Stars, Gauchos, Church and Rebels are still undefeated. 2/5/02  Coach Antonio: IS8 Midget Division T.K. Allstars lost to Springfield Rifles by 3 down the stretch. Game hurt our playoff positioning, finishing the bracket 2-2. Several T.K. starters were not available due to bad report cards. Deytwan Hill (2-G), Anthony Rosa (PF), Justin Davis (WF). Hopefully, they will learn something from this! They let the team down, their parents down, and most of all they let themselves down!'

1/29/02 Antonio Cannon: The T.K. Allstars improved to 2-1 at the IS8 Midget division. After get pounded by Riverside in game one, the T.K. Allstars bounced back to defeat the Brooklyn Cyclones and J.Y.0.. The final game of the regular season happens Sunday, Feb. 3rd @1:30 against the Springfield Riffles. Guards Antonio Cannon Jr, Deytwan Hill & Travis Colburn along with  center Anthony Rosa & PF Justin Davis and SF Brian Reyes are all playing well.'

The Junior weeknight games are at 6:30 and 8:00.  The six weekend games are 9:30, 10:30,  11:30am, 12:30,  1:30  and 2:30pm. The Juniors play Fridays, one Monday and the weekend 2:15 game.  The Midgets play a Wednesday and the 11:15,  12:15 and 1:15 weekend games.  The Biddies play two Wednesdays and the weekend 9:15 and 10:15 games.
