8/13/05 Roberto Diaz - 'Team Odom defeated J.Y.O. (Jamaica Youth Organization) 69-55 at the I.S. 8 17u Summer Classic Championship. Brian Mckenzie earned MVP for Team Odom, while Michael Troy got sportsmanship award for J.Y.O.' 8/12/05 Roberto Diaz: 'The I.S. 8 17U Summer Classic championship will take place tonight at 7:00pm between Team Odom & J.Y.O.' 8/11/05 Antonio Cannon Sr: 'The T.K. Allstars ... played @ IS8 against the Lamar Odom Allstars, T.K. bounced back to advance to the final four by defeating the Lamar Odom Allstar 60-54. Antonio Cannon topped T.K. with 21 pts, Justin Davis added 20 pts in the victory. K. Irick was high for L.O.A. with 19 pts. T.K. will face JYO in the final four tonight @ 8:00pm.' 8/7/05 Antonio Cannon, Sr: 'The T.K. Allstar returning H.S. Senior team defeated Campus Magnet H.S. in playoff action @ IS8 Friday night. Campus Magnet gave us a scare behind the 14pts, late in the game by Evan Thomas, to extend the contest to overtime. T.K. prevailed in the extra session, behind the leadership of T.K.'s floor general Antonio Cannon, Jr. who finished with 15pts. The win advances T.K. to the quarterfinal round where we will face the Shootiing Stars, Monday, night @ 8:00pm.' 8/2/05 Antonio Cannon, Sr: 'The T.K. Allstars have completed 3 of their 6 summer league regular season schedules. At IS8 the team went 4-0, and open up the playoffs this Thursday @ 8:00pm against Campus Magnet H.S. 7/9/05 Kim Wilson: 'On Wednesday night the Springfield Tifles took on Team Underrated in the I.S. 8 summer classic. Unfortunately Springfield lost 78-64, but had strong showing from Trevon Charles who led with 18 pts and 5 rebounds, his brother Trevor Charles followed with 11pts, 3 rebounds and 6blocked shots. Tyshaun Russell and Keith Murray each contributed 9 pts. Team Underrated played a solid game on both ends of the floor.' 7/8/05 Coach Dre', Team Underrated: On Wednesday night at IS8 Team Underrated 17u "A" team beat a very tough Rifles team 78-64. The Rifles led most of the game and even went up by 14 in the first-half. Team Underrated was missing 3 starters and managed to pull out a win behind 25 pts. and 11 rebounds from sophomore to be Cameron Barber. We also received strong contributions from Maurice Charlton 12 pts., and 5 assist, Sean Smith 11 pts., and 4 assist, Chris Barber had 9 pts., and 3 assist. The win moved Team Underrated "A" team to a 2-0 record. 7/7/05 Coach Tyrone Hester, Morris Brown Warriors: 'On Wednesday night our 17u team took on United Brooklyn in the I.S. 8 Summer Classic and came up with a 71-61 win. Trinity Fields led the way with 14pts, Edy Toussaint added 12pts,while William Williams and Darwyn Lynch chipped in 10 pts each.The Morris Brown Warriors improved there record to 2-1 in the I.S 8 summer league.' 7/6/05 Antonio Cannon Sr: 'The T.K. Allstar 17u team defeated The Holy Cross Knights last night at IS8 70-69 in a thriller down the stretch. Justin Davis finished with 16 pts, Johnny Barnes added 14pts in win. Bret Harvey18 pts in the losing effort.' 6/29/05 Roberto Diaz, NYC Finest - 'Yesterday, our 16u squad took on the Renaissance Warriors in the I.S. 8 Summer Classic (17u) second game of the season and came up with a 69-57 win. Michael Bruce led the way with 17 pts, while Nayquann Mitchell and Dennis Oglesby chipped in 11 pts each, and Akeem Brightman added 10 pts for the 2-0 overall record. Angel Flores led Renaissance Warriors with 15 pts. During the 2nd game of the night, Team Primetime defeated Laurelton All-Stars 68-58. Kevin Johnson led the way with 16 pts for Team Primetime, while James Southerland, who really worked hard on both ends of the floor, and Antun Maxwell added 12 pts each and Vere Deloach chipped in 11 pts for the 2-0 record.' 6/28/05 Coach Rob Moses, Queens Blackhawks: 'On Wednesday night our 17u team took on Rosedale Trailblazers. We defeated the Trailblazers 69-68 in overtime. Saiquan Jemmott led the Blackhawks with 25 pts 7 rebs, Takorie Lewis and James Cruz had 13 pts and 12 pts respectively. Takorie Lewis hit a three pointer to send the game into overtime and also hit two key free throws to seal the win.' 6/28/05 Coach Hayden Brown (Rosedale Blazers): 'I would like to thank the guys for fighting the good battle in the OT loss to the Queen Blackhawks. Shamair Williams had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Max Calixte had 14 points and 17 rebounds and Farley Rene had 19 points.' 6/28/05 Pete Edwards: 'Eligible players are 17 and under legitimate Juniors or younger.'
