Big Apple Sports - Big Apple Sports is a non-profit youth organization that works with high school student-athletes in identifying opportunities to qualify for and play college basketball. Site covers local and national JUCO events, player lists, and has links to regional and national associations.

Catholic High School Athletic Association - New York CHSAA School Information

Courier Post Online:   It's right there with the Inquirer for South Jersey sports but the stories are not always archived.

High school media:. We have online galleries of high school teams and potential recruits as well.

Hoop Scoop - once it was reasonable daily free coverage. Now the free coverage is weekly. The pay site is a buck a day with no discounts and the coverage is notably poorer than in previous years!

HoopsUSA:  Eddie Oliver's site features High School Boys Consensus Rankings.

iHigh.com New Jersey and iHigh.com New York:  The New York site does a great job of covering the Glens Falls state championships; the New Jersey site needs a lot of work.

InJersey - Gannett Jersey papers online.  At its best during the high school season but the updates are almost always a day late.  That's very late in net time.

Metro Hoops:  Brutally slow loading and much of content is linking to other sites.  Best for younger NJ player coverage.

MSG Network: Mike Quick's weekly cable TV coverage is great.  MSG updates its site weekly and weak.  When the site is updated for the McDonalds game held in MSG, 'the world's most famous arena', three days after the game is played, someone is dropping the ball.

nychsaa.org: The New York Catholic High Schools' Athletic Association site. It contains news, schedules (the master list for boys varsity basketball by date and/or any of their 33 teams), standings and links.  At a minimum it will be updated weekly and though the current emphasis is on basketball, it will eventually cover all sports, except football.

New York Post - pretty good coverage when it's there.  As often as not, Hondo's bets get more online space than high school basketball.

Newsday - Solid and timely, year round high school basketball coverage with the emphasis on Brooklyn, Queens and the Island.

NYC Daily News - nice area prep coverage and pretty good search engine for archived stories.  Unfortunately, they don't consistently archive their stories.

New Jersey Online - best one stop site for stories from various Jersey papers, but it's not always easy to find the top articles.  They're buried in the sections.

NJ Hoops   From Rivals to Alliance Sports this is Jay Gomes' NJ site to go with his newsletter. Most of it is free and Jay's a good guy who knows what he's doing.

NorthJersey.com - The site was Bergen Record Online and was better. Their search engine is gone and the updates are now late in the day if at all. Our loss.

Philadelphia Inquirer - premier southern Jersey coverage.  They're better during the high school season than not.

Psal.org:  Public School Athletic League's site.

PSAL.Hoops.com:  Coach Will Stasiuk's PSAL site.

The Journal News:  Westchester, Rockland, Putnam high school sports and home to Peter Abraham.

USA Today - their poll is online and updated weekly during the season.
