Roundball Classic Springfield, Mass won 2 out of 3 this weekend beating Ct.Gold
68-59 and the Ct. Northstars 87-84, only Losing to CT. Select 90-71. Mike
Larkin (Msgr. Farrell) scored 16 pts in the win vs. the Ct Gold, Brian
Jirak (St.Peters) chipped in with 12 and Tom Tibbs (St.Peters)
had 14. While Ryan Hennessey's (St.Joe by the Sea - 18 pts) basket
with 3 seconds left proved to be the game winner, Adam Jensen's (Msgr
Farrell) 33 pts were the crushing blows vs. the Ct. Northstars . The defense
of Mike Neely (Msgr. Farrell) and Rick Boccia (Msgr. Farrell)
sparked the 2nd half comeback with the Stingrays trailing by 10 at halftime.
Justin Guilfoyle (Msgr. Farrell) had 12 in the loss to CT Select.
The Staten Island Stingrays would like to thank Ken Smith and the
CT. Warriors organization for a well run tournament.
The Stingrays 14u Boys Blue Team won the Hoopla 2 Tournament (Hoop Heaven) over the weekend going 4-0 ( SI Stingrays 52, NY Prime 41; SI Stingrays 50, Scarsdale 41) beating the Scarsdale Kings in the final.50-41. The Stingrays were led in scoring by Mikayal Bradshaw, Nick Acquino, Sadik Samy and Victor Schettino,.Chris Giordano and Tyler Stradford led the team in assists and steals. Stingrays 13u Gold:King of the Mountain, Albany NY. SI Stingrays 55, Orange Crush 39. SI Stingrays 54, Rhode Island Raptors 29. SI Stingrays 68 Rhode Island Devils 47. SI Stingrays 62, Orange Crush 42. Vermont Mountaineers 72, SI Stingrays 68 in the championship game. John Capone had a 26 pt 3 block shots, Ryan Herold avg.13 pts a game, Joab Jerome had a 22 pt., 19 reb, 6 asst.vs. Orange Crush (4 block shots game) and Matt Dinneny played great defense in all games.'
