1/9/05 This weekend was the championship games for the first annual Brower Park
Shoot Hoops Not Guns fall tournament. First I would like to thank all participants and organizations. The championship day had standing room only and everyone got what they came to see. The 13&U division was loaded with talent and believe me the future is theirs and I hope they make the best of it. The match up for the 13&U was
James Padgett vs. Jayvaughn Pinkston. The 15&U division gave everyone what they wanted as well. The
Quasim Pugh vs. Dwan McMillan match up. Below is the final results.
12/19/04 Andre Owes: '13&U -- Brownsville Ballers 52 (Jayvaughn Pinkston 20 pts*) vs Anessa's sports 45 (Javon Williams 13 pts). Team Starrett 53 (James Padgett 16 pts) vs D&D Players 33 (James Dow 8 pts). *Player of the week Jayvaughn Pinkston with 20 pts. The 13&U championship between Team Starrett and Brownsville Ballers will truly be a classic. The key matchups will be James Padgett 6"4 against Jayvaughn Pinkston 6"2. Team Starrett aka Stars of the City, are loaded with talent with players such as Isaiah Morton, Doron Lamb, Armani Cardwood, Davontay Grace, James Padgett, Anthony Allen, Reynaldo Walters, Antwan Slaughter, Ethan Clare and Devon "Fatty" Macmillan. The Brownsville Ballers have some good players too. Jayvaughn Pinkston and Shaquille Jordan will have to be dealt with. As the saying goes "Bring your game not your name". 15&U -- Anessa's Sports 54 (Dawan Macmillan 28 pts*) vs Team Starrett 53 (Tony Vele 15 pts). Brownsville Ballers 55 (Terrell Lloyd 13pts) vs Camba 40 (Joseph Crawley 10pts). *Player of the week Dawan Macmillan with 28 pts. Once again, Anessa's Sports proved to be just too strong for Team Starrett in the 15&U division. Anessa's led by Dawan Macmillan and his 28 points got away with a three pointer at the buzzer. The gym went crazy as Team Starrett stood in shock and Anessa came away with another win.

This winter we are only doing 13 & u and 15 & u. Some of our major teams include Starrett City (aka. stars of the city) Anessa's Sport, Ice Tea and Brownsville Ballers. The tournament runs every Saturday from 11-06-04 until 01-08-05. All games are played at I. S. 271 located at Fulton Street and Saratoga Avenue in Brooklyn. Our past student athletes include: Kaimondre Owes, Lavance Fields, Mike Davis, Chris Lowery, Gary Ervin, Gary Forbes, Ramel Bradley, Chris Taft, Eugene Lawrence and Saquan Stone. Admission is free, so come check out Brooklyn's up and coming future stars.'
